1. GuruCMS – basic properties

  • Any content on site can be translated into any language exists in CMS. Languages can be added easily as needed.

  • SEO enabled links

  • Design can be easily changed – support for themes

  • Very high security level

  • Shopping cart can be easily activated and used. Any merchant account can be integrated and used

  • Very easy and intuitive way for content filling

  • Granulated administrator access control: administrator can modify only content he is allowed to modify

  • Every text can be filled through WYSIWYG Web Editor

2. Administrators

2.1. Users

User can belong to one specific group

2.2. Groups

They are used for permission system. Permission are based on Modules (members, translations etc.)

3. Members

3.1. Members

Members can sign-in into system, but also can be added through admin panel.

If shopping cart is activated in system, credit and discount can be set for particular member. Also, credit can be set to member group.

3.2. Groups

Groups are used in some particular CMS modules. For selecting members in newsletters or to specify discount for all members that belong to that group.

4. Translations

4.1. Languages

This module is used to modify public site languages. Default language for site can be set here. Languages can be deactivated.

If new language is added, link for adding new translation in every module in CMS will be shown

4.2. Public static text translation

This module is used to translate any static (non-dynamic) text in public part.

All translations are stored in database, but also are cached on hard disk of server, so this translation is extremely fast and flexible.

5. Custom pages

Custom page is defined as any particular url which has some static and/or dynamic contents. Any url in public part can be custom page.

First page (default) which is opened when visitor open site without specifying url, can be set in this module.

There are 5 types of custom pages: Text, Plain text, Url, Block and Site map type.

Every page can be flagged as members only – only valid members can see this page. If anonymous visitor is try to open it, he will be redirected to some other, specified, custom page.

Also, meta keywords and meta description can be filled for particular page.

5.1. Text type

This custom page is used to create static text page on site with using web text editor. There are some other parameters, like: page SEO name for generating SEO urls.

5.2. Plain text type

This custom page is used to create static text page on site without using web text editor. There are some other parameters, like: page SEO name for generating SEO urls.

5.3. URL type

This custom page is used to add some more parameters to particular dynamic url: meta tags, access control, it that page is redirect only (it is used to redirect to some outside url)

5.4. Block Type

Is used to create custom page that has specific layout and is made from blocks (which are described in chapter 8.)

5.5. Site map

This page generate site map of all custom pages in CMS.

6. Polls

Classic polls: question and unlimited number of answers. Poll's online date can be set.

7. Dynamic catalog modules

Modules used for creating any catalog: news system, product's catalog, faq, Adds, etc.

Attributes:

  • Categories (can have unlimited sublevels of subcategories, image, and description)

  • review system for any item

  • SEO links

  • up to 4 text field descriptions

  • online/offline date for particular item

  • rss feed of items can be turned on/off

  • module can has shopping cart activated

  • meta tags

  • items can be added by members (usable for creating public Add system) - this feature can be turned on/off

  • Item can have unlimited number of files (pdf, doc, etc.) or images

  • images are automatically scaled to thumbnails

  • Email to a friend is optional

  • Every module has it's own set of templates

  • Flags for TOP and SPECIAL item

8. Blocks

Small element that can in left/right column on public site, or can be element of Block Custom page (5.4). Blocks can be easily rearranged and reposition using simple Drag'n'Drop system.

There are several type of blocks:

  1. Static – used for blocks like: login block, poll block, etc

  2. Custom module – used for blocks like: Top ten products, Newest articles...

  3. Single custom page – used to show content of any text custom page

  4. Custom page list – used to generate links of several chosen custom pages (block menu)

  5. RSS – used for rss feeds

  6. Banner (plain html) – can be used to fill with html/javascript code to show some external content, like banner from PhpAddsNew

9. Newsletters

Management for newsletters. CMS can hold more than one newsletter, and every newsletter can hold more than one e-mail. Administrator can set date when particular mail with be send.

Mails are send in blocks (number of mails that are send in same time), so mail server is not overloaded

When newsletter is created, administrator has to choose from various filters which define recipients. Filters can be by country, language, recipient's group, or administrator can choose to send e-mails to regular members or just to users that are subscribe to newsletters

There is possibility for mass add/delete emails from system. System can accept up to 100.000 emails to be added at once.

10. Orders

This module is used if shopping cart is activated. Administrator can view/modify all orders made though shopping cart.

11. Public Menu

Module is used to modify/create top horizontal menu. Every item in menu can have 2 sub level of sub menu. One item from menu, can be flagged to be visible to all visitors or only to valid members or particular group of members, or any to anonymous visitors

12. CSS editor

Public site css style can be imported into this module, and administrator can modify any style class

13. IP Access

Module is used to allow or disallow any ip or range of ips, access to admin or public part of site.

14. E-mail manager

Module is used to add/modify e-mails that are sent to members on specific action made by user (change password, password recovery, sign-in...).

15. Site configuration

Some parameters that can be set:

  • Activate shopping cart

  • activate user crediting

  • store images in database instead on hard disk

  • which valute to use for prices (dollar, Euro, etc.)

  • member register type

  • some extra attributes for members' profiles

  • SMTP server

  • email settings: FROM, REPLY-TO and RETURN-TO fields

  • global meta tags
